We inspect the attic for bath fan terminations, air leaks, insulation gaps, and ventilation balance. The moisture source is identified before any cleaning begins.
Attic access points are sealed. Ceiling insulation below the affected area is protected or removed if contaminated.
Mold on wood sheathing is removed via sodium bicarbonate blasting or equivalent method. This is the industry-standard approach for attic mold.
All surfaces are HEPA-vacuumed after blasting to remove residue. Exposed framing is wire-brushed as needed.
Bath fan ducts are rerouted to exterior. Air leaks are sealed. Soffit and ridge ventilation are inspected and corrected. This is the step that prevents return.
Cleaned sheathing can be sealed with an EPA-registered mold-resistant coating as a secondary protection layer.
